Our Young Men(Our Future)

Our young men today are only concerned in vanity. That is to say, our young men are obsessed with the way how they look. They are no boundaries to where these young men will go to achieve the 'in looks'. They are not in fear of what others might say about them. Our young men wear tight pants(spangy and bellas), earrings etc...They even go over the boundary of self destruction: bleaching. My question is, who are these young men trying to attract? Females, males or both?
I have seen white people cross- dressing and wearing outlandish clothes and accessories. I never knew that our black people could mimic them. Could it be that our young men subconsciously do not see our race worth 'mimicking'? Do they think that their race is inferior as seen in their 'bleaching' looks and tight pants wearing? Can it be?
Who sets the standards of what is the 'in thing' for our young men? Is it something like this: A young man appears in full blown pink clothes, along with it goes pink accessories. His hair is relaxed and their is the nose ring. And everybody starts following. What is it like? I would really like to know. This is really serious at the rate it is going. I won't even try to imagine what would it be like say six years down the line.
Guys today are too self-absorbed into themselves, wanting to impress women with their looks and wanting to impress others apart from females. Either they are oblivious to it or they are aware of it. But there is a serious underlying problem here. Is this an identity crises? Are our young men today having difficulty discovering their true sexual orientation? A study should be conducted to find out what's going on with our young men and solutions put into place to solve them. After all, who wants a society of uniform people? We want to tell the difference between a male and female. Right?(surely not stripping persons to find out if they are man or woman)
I believe that most of our young men are gays and potential gays. We think we know what's going on, but I think there is a lot of horrifying things yet to be discovered. So I implore NGO's, the government and the private sector to work together to assist our young men through this difficult phase.
It is said that Jamaica import most of its commodities from America. Because of this, American lifestyles, music, attitudes and clothing are adopted to go along with these commodities. There is a chance that our young men today are adopting the 'Gay Pimp' lifestyle, attitudes and clothing without really realising it. Although hip-hop and RnB are popular among Jamaicans, the hip-hop and RnB looks aren't. The situation is really absurd. The question that increasingly pops up in my head is this: What had triggered this wave of change among our young men(our future)? A million reasons could be put forward. It can be due to the effects of Jamaica's homophobic status. It could also be due to the increasing access to the internet and technology. For example, Hi5 and mobile chat rooms. These encourage homosexual behaviour as well as the exchanging of culture with the victim being unaware of this taking place.
I encourage our older men to set an example for these young youths and to offer their guidance and assistance whenever possible. Most of these young men hardly have a solid father figure in the home.
